Exhibition Luminance

Julia Huteau sees the life of an artist as an adventure, a quest. She draws inspiration from the philosophy of science and the works of Johannes Itten, Ann Véronica Janssens and James Turrell. Introduced to ceramics at a very early age, she has made this material the basis of her practice, but her work has much broader ambitions. Her mastery of processes, to which she is never a slave and the new tools and media she explores open the door to new material discoveries and are a pretext for getting out of the studio and initiating collaborations. From early wood-firing to digital drawing and moving images, Julia Huteau establish an exploration between reality and virtuality, and the importance of light and color.
